The mission of the Center for the Advancement of Logic, its Philosophy, History and Applications is to:

• Increase national and international visibility of logic research within the school and across campus
• Foster collaboration between logicians, and scholars whose work substantially involves logic at UC Irvine
• Liaise with logic centers in California, the U.S., and abroad
• Interface with school units covering neighboring fields
• Guide graduate students to the frontiers of research through engagement with faculty projects
• Aid in the recruitment of graduate students interested in a career in logic
• Realize synergies in the planning, financing and running of conferences, workshops, and colloquia
